Jeff Crandall

Jeff Crandall received a BA in Creative Writing with an emphasis on poetry from the University of Washington in Seattle. His poetry continues to be published in journals across the country, including Atlanta Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, Bloom, and North American Review. His award-winning first book of poetry, The Grief Pool, is published by Firestorm Press. His two current manuscripts "Queer Gods & Demons" and "The Witch Lover" are looking for homes.
While working for Pilchuck Glass School, Jeff Crandall began combining poetry with glass. His “Poet’s Bottles” and “Spheres of Influence” series have since been exhibited across North America and in Europe. His most recent solo show was at the Museum of Northwest Art in LaConner, WA.

Of His "Poet Bottles", he says: “Have you ever read the warning label on a bottle Joy Lemon-Fresh dishwashing detergent? It reads, in part, “Keep Joy out of the reach of children. If Joy gets in your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.” I am amazed at the extremes that we, as American society, got to protect ourselves, and also how we now commoditize our very emotions.” “My Poet’s Bottles poke fun at marketing and warning labels, but their whimsy also resonates with core truths—reminding us that, in a world surrounded by consumerism, our connection to nature, personal integrity and age-old human foibles are precious and need to be honored.”
